- Vendor business details, including business name, ABN, branch information, billing email, website, phone, address, and membership roles.
- Listing and enquiry information, including vehicle details, pickup city, requested dates, messages, lead events, reviews, and moderation notes.
- Technical and security data, including IP-derived identifiers, device and browser metadata, rate-limit events, audit logs, fraud flags, and payment/webhook references.
How we use information
Hire Car uses personal information to provide and secure the marketplace, route customer enquiries, manage vendor accounts, process subscriptions, moderate content, prevent fraud, provide support, and comply with legal obligations.
Hire Car may use aggregated or de-identified information to measure marketplace performance, improve search quality, and understand demand patterns.
Disclosure
Customer enquiry details are shared with the relevant vendor so the vendor can respond to the rental request. Vendor listing and branch details are displayed publicly when approved.
Hire Car uses service providers for hosting, database, authentication, email, payments, search, bot protection, monitoring, and analytics. These providers may process information only as needed to supply their services to Hire Car.
Security and retention
Hire Car uses technical and organisational controls such as role-based access, row-level security, audit logging, rate limiting, webhook verification, bot protection, and encrypted transport to protect personal information.
Hire Car keeps personal information for as long as needed to provide the platform, meet legal and accounting obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and maintain audit records. Data may be deleted, anonymised, or archived when no longer required.
